No ride is longer than a few yards. Such a joke and a lie. I could film a fictional wave at Malibu or Thailia St. in Laguna, and make it look like a mile long wave But props to Endless Summer for lighting the fire for surfing
Miki was one cool cat 🤙🏼
... they're all going head first into the reef..hahah
Love this guy
Hello! I'm an archive researcher and I'm trying to source this. Do you know where this is coming from ? Thanks!
No more sand, no more wave....thanks real estate developers!
pure point perfection 🤙🏼
This guy hates you. do youself a favor and don't idolize him
In Guadeloupe ?
go home dude get a fucking grip
Back when you could go to south Africa without getting attacked.
When there was law and order before the west brought in lawlessness.
Whites forever is that it?
@@mrunning10 Equal rights for all, no matter what color or gender etc. That doesn’t change the current crime statistics in South Africa.
You mean during apartheid.
@@nedmerrill6228 Just SAY it you CHICKENSHIT. Race = Crime is what YOU say you racist chickenshit.
Not my rights
They handle their surfboards with such ease. Amazing.
Memories of why I started surfing
Damn when I surfed here must of been on one of those 60 days of not so pipeline 😅
whats sad is that those waves arnt there anymore
This was a great docu
J Bay Mike rode so long he could eat a sandwich
Da Cat 🌊🐱
I was a young boy in Arizona when I saw this movie. I thought, "I want to do that!" I was lucky and at age 12 (1970) we moved to San Diego! I bought a used 10'2" Con for $10 bucks and surfed every chance I could. From Blacks Beach all the way down to 3M's Ensenada, MX.

Living the '60s vicariously. The endless Summer
Shoutout my little brother, just a cooler version of me 110%.
Lived in South Africa my whole life and had no idea about this
Yes, this is THE CLIP I best remember from this film. Saw it when it first came out and I have to revisit it regularly to get my fix, Remember AGIP?
As an ex-resident of this region of the Eastern Cape, I look back with very fond memories of surfing here; and I wrote this song while now living here in Oz. It's called 'Stirring up the Sand': ruclips.net/video/--AW1_mVhVc/видео.html Enjoy and Here's my take on Cape St Francis: ruclips.net/video/Z5cKY9a1tlo/видео.html
This is the best bucking wave I've ever seen! Since 1966! Chime in! Keep talking about the beauty of it all!
Hey Elon musk Jeff bezos make a perfect wave machine! Thank you so much! Purified water!
Deep stuff he was saying- sadly compromised by the stupid music in the background.
Those were the days, i had a snakeboard, i remember going to hoboken on the train for the tournaments..
it is from Surfer's the movie by Bill Delaney . the author
What is this theme song called?
I saw Endless Summer in January 1965 at Santa Barbara High School after surfing an uncrowded Hammond's Reef. I was 13. Bruce Brown did the narration in person. Now I live in New Zealand inspired by this phenomenal movie
does the government there allow you to surf?
@@senatedistrict6530 Auckland remains at level 4 which is total lockdown and will remain so for another week and a half. We in Taranaki Province south of Auckland are at level 3. People can do most things like surfing as long as they socially distance and wear face coverings in stores etc. Hoping to go to level 2 Monday.
You still surf at 70?
Funny how this story took place after hearing Mike tell how this spot was really discovered. Way different than the movie version.
wait what happened
@@heenalusurf2500 few stories floating around but they all point to local white South African surfers contacting American surfers, telling them about the break. The producers and Bruce were scouting locations for a while before they set off. Fishermen and locals knew about the wave for years before the film. I’m from Australia and I adored the film growing up in the 90’s, also when the sequel was released. I’very been living in Cape Town for a while and couldn’t miss heading over to have a look. Conditions were a bit crap, no one else in the water so I didn’t go in (sharks are common) but you can see the ridiculously good potential. It’s a loooooooong wave. The wind directions off the southern coast of Africa are constant and consistent because of the border of the Atlantic and Indian oceans. The shape of the bay and the direction of the St Francis headland sticking out make for “the perfect wave”
7 miles eh?
Also here after listening the Anderson Paak Venice track “Miki Doralude” ? He made me discover this great athlete THX mr Paak
Wow - this stands the test of time! Great to see this
Victor I sent a text over to you. I also deleted your comment so your number won’t be public FYI talk to you soon.
"lonely."
Wheres part 3,4,5...?
The original movie was a vhs with fire and a devils head on the cover, right? Does anyone know it’s name or where to find the full movie? I owned it once :)
Hellburger is the title, not sure how to get it but I’d love to get one!
The waves at Cape St. Francis aren't that "perfect" most of the time.
Some say if you surf it for 30 years you will get 30 days like this
Year?
G
Total narcissist....his ol' timey 'California style' held back the shortboard revolution for years.
ruclips.net/video/Cs8F09iOgM8/видео.html rolling around on tiles so smooth vintage boards , very rare
Nice. The right ear clipping is bloody annoying.....
Cool !
so many good surfers their hands and arms were out of sync. Mr. Dora's arms always moved gracefully in synch with the rest of his movement.
his skills were mediocre by todays standards
